About Us

The Edge of Insight

We are a consultancy grounded in corporate anthropology, guiding organizations through the complex human systems that shape strategy, leadership, and change. We go where others won’t, looking beneath the surface – the place where meaning, identity, and behavior are formed.

We believe that transformation happens not only through optimizing processes, but also through deeper understanding of people, power, and culture. That’s where we start.

Sanne Witkamp

Founder  |  Corporate Anthropologist  |  Strategic Facilitator

With over 20 years of global experience as a corporate anthropologist, I help leaders and organizations decode complexity and lead through what’s not immediately visible. My background bridges academic anthropology, strategic consultancy, and intercultural practice allowing me to see both the depth of human systems and the demands of high-stakes decision-making.

I’ve worked with leadership teams across industries and geographies to uncover what really drives behavior, alignment, and resistance and to translate that insight into purposeful action.

Whether supporting a CEO through transition, mapping the cultural dynamics of a global transformation, or facilitating boardroom dialogue in a moment of crisis. My work focuses on one thing: surfacing what’s hidden in plain sight, and using it to create clarity, connection, and momentum.

My approach blends:

  • Ethnographic research and systems thinking
  • Organizational and leadership consulting
  • Deep facilitation with a focus on meaning, power, and trust

If you want to understand what’s truly shaping your culture, your change efforts, or your leadership effectiveness — that’s where we start.

Our Network of Experts

I collaborate with a trusted circle of exceptional partners: senior facilitators, systems thinkers, and fellow anthropologists. Each brings deep expertise in human dynamics and organizational transformation and shares a commitment to working with clarity, nuance, and impact.

Together, we form tailored teams based on your needs whether that’s navigating boardroom dynamics, designing participatory strategy processes, or decoding cultural friction across global teams.

Saakje Bakker

Facilitator | Storyteller | Authentic Leadership Guide

Saakje Bakker supports leaders, professionals and teams who want to increase their impact by staying connected to who they truly are. As a facilitator with a background in Business Administration, she brings together business expertise, leadership development and the power of storytelling.

Drawing on her management background and years of experience as a trainer, speaker and facilitator, Saakje understands the challenges of leading in an increasingly complex and fast-changing world. Her work focuses on strengthening self-awareness, authenticity and the courage to lead from a place of genuine presence.

Storytelling lies at the heart of her approach. Saakje helps people uncover and embrace their own story as a source of connection, trust and influence. Rather than crafting the perfect message, she enables leaders to align their words, values and presence in a way that feels authentic and impactful.

As a contributor to the Masterclass Cultural Intelligence, Saakje delivers inspiring sessions on storytelling, authentic communication and personal leadership. She demonstrates how leaders can create meaningful connections by communicating with authenticity, leading with presence and remaining true to their own story.

Saakje believes that leadership begins not with what you do, but with who you are. When people have the courage to show up authentically, they create space for trust, meaningful connection and lasting impact. Inspired by this belief, she encourages leaders to embrace their own story and lead with greater awareness, humanity and confidence in a world that increasingly calls for authenticity.

Dennis Leusveld

Dennis Leusveld

Facilitator | Teams and founders | Creating space through observation

Dennis Leusveld brings calm where things tend to move fast. He is a facilitator and experienced founder who believes that real development starts with paying attention. Not by pushing harder, but by creating the space to see what is actually going on between people.

With a background in Business Development and years of entrepreneurial experience, he knows the energy of building, scaling, and making things happen. At the same time, he has learned the value of slowing down just enough to notice patterns, dynamics, and unspoken assumptions that shape how teams really function.

Dennis works alongside founders and teams as a quiet observer and steady presence. By listening closely and looking carefully, he helps make sense of complex situations without overcomplicating them. His strength lies in naming what is already there – often just beneath the surface, and in opening up new room for reflection, alignment, and growth.

Rather than offering ready-made solutions, Dennis creates conditions for development to emerge. His work invites people to pause, reconnect with what matters, and move forward with more clarity, trust, and intention.

Daniël Maissan

Photographer | Visual anthropologist | Explorer of Perspectives

Daniël Maissan  is a visual anthropologist, facilitator and globetrotter with a rare gift: stories find him. For over twenty years, he has moved through the world — not as a tourist, but as a quiet observer of human nature. With his camera, he captures what others tend to overlook: small gestures, moving encounters, and the raw beauty of everyday life.

His work is a form of visual anthropology. He wanders without a fixed plan, using all his senses for whatever presents itself. It is precisely in that wandering that images emerge — images that move you without demanding your attention: honest, human and unfiltered. Not a pursuit of perfection or aesthetics, but a quiet witnessing of moments as they are.

That gift,  seeing what others miss, is also at the heart of his work as a facilitator. He helps people to look differently: beyond the obvious, towards what is really at play.

Daniël shares his stories and images in the Masterclass Cultural Intelligence, demonstrating how presence without judgement, following curiosity without an agenda are key to truly understanding each other.

Teun Voeten

Cultural anthropologist | Investigative research | Consultant

Teun Voeten is a cultural anthropologist, war correspondent, and investigative researcher who authored several books. He obtained a PhD with a thesis on the Mexican Drug Violence. Teun has over 33 years of hands-on field experience and conducted ethnographic research in some of the world’s most extreme environments from war zones in the Balkans, Sierra Leone, the Middle East, to underground homeless communities in New York City and the drug ridden streets of California.

His immersive approach to fieldwork provides deep insight into how people organize, adapt, and survive in high-pressure, often chaotic contexts. Teun’s work reveals the hidden codes, cultural frameworks, and informal power structures that shape human behavior insights that translate directly to organizational and societal analysis.
His strength lies in exposing the cultural forces that operate beneath the surface essential knowledge for organizations navigating complexity, conflict, and transformation.

We don’t believe culture is what gets in the way.
We believe it’s the way forward.
